Design Dilemma: Decorating a Child’s Room
Design dilemmas; we all have them. And as an interior designer, I’ve learned most people have the same concerns and questions when it comes to decorating their homes. Q: I’m moving my son from his crib to a bed and I’m at a loss how to decorate his new room. I want something that will last, but I know how fast kids grow and their tastes change. How can I decorate his room so it will “grow” with him?
A: That’s a great question and a dilemma faced by every parent. Thankfully, there are many easy and affordable ways to decorate a child’s room so that the decor can change right along with him or her. Here are some of my favorite interior design tips. I hope you find them helpful!
Go with neutral bedding (solids, stripes). Buzz Lightyear might be cute now, but he’ll be cringe inducing in a few years. With neutral bedding, you can change up the accessories (pillows, sheets) as your child grows with different themes, colors and patterns.
