Hi, I’m Barbara Gilbert…
Founder of Barbara Gilbert Interiors and creator of Design in a Binder, Barbara is the President of the Interior Design Society, DFW chapter, and has traveled the United States researching and designing beautiful spaces for residential and commercial customers alike.
These projects include residential homes, apartment complexes, senior living centers and commercial offices.
A respected expert in her field, Barbara has contributed her advice to television and radio programs such as Good Morning Texas, DFW Closeup, KXAS DFW Nonstop and House Talk Today. She has also served as a presenter for the 2011 Dallas Home and Garden Show and a judge of the 2011 and 2012 Habitat for Humanity Design Duels.
Recent honors include Houzz’s ‘Best of Remodeling’ 2012 award and designation by AVA Living as a Top 10 Window Treatment Designer. Her designs have also been featured in international publications such as Cheers! Wine Cellar Design, by ArtPower Publishing.

As a furniture specialist, Barbara has helped countless clients select colors and fabrics for furniture to fit their homes, lifestyles and budgets.
Barbara is also a founder and managing partner of Dallas DesignWorks, an interior design cooperative created in 2010 to pool the buying power of multiple designers. Through Dallas DesignWorks, our clients have access to exclusive, custom lines of furnishings at furniture store prices!
Certified Dewey Color Specialist
As a Certified Dewey Color Specialist, Barbara loves color and understands its importance as a key component of interior design. She not only understands how colors interact with one another, but how they affect you psychologically.
With a strong emphasis on open and frequent communication, Barbara prides herself in working closely with clients to design environments that reflect their style and needs and is committed to creating timeless designs that meet budget and scheduling requirements.
