About us
Barbara Gilbert
Founder of Barbara Gilbert Interiors and creator of Design in a Binder, Barbara is the current Vice President of the Interior Design Society, DFW chapter, and has traveled the United States researching and designing beautiful spaces for residential and commercial customers alike. These projects include residential homes, apartment complexes, senior living centers and commercial offices.
She is a respected expert as an interior designer, having contributed her design advice to national publications, such as Realtor® Magazine, as an honorary speaker at the 2011 Dallas Home and Garden Show, a judge of the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity Design Duel 2011, and a guest on the House Talk Today radio show. In 2010 Barbara received a designation from AVA Living as being one of the top 10 window treatment designers.
Barbara is a furniture specialist, having helped countless clients select colors and fabrics for furniture. At Barbara Gilbert Interiors, we select furniture that fits your home and lifestyle, and offer custom upholstered pieces at furniture store prices!
A Certified Dewey Color Specialist, Barbara loves color and understands its importance as a key component of interior design. She not only understands how colors interact with one another, but how they affect you psychologically. She prides herself in working closely with clients to design environments that reflect their style and needs.
Julie Whitworth
Design Assistant Julie Whitworth is an integral part of the team at Barbara Gilbert Interiors. With a skilled eye for design and a master’s degree from Texas Tech University, she helps coordinate client services and provides design support for Barbara’s projects.
